يصاب الطفل بالزكام عند تعرضه للبرد أو العدوى , وأهم أعراضه الشعور بالقشعريرة والصداع الخفيف والعطس المتكرر مع ارتفاع بسيط في درجة الحرارة , ويصبح الغشاء المخاطي المبطن للأنف محتقناً ومتورماً , فيشكو الطفل من انسداد أنفه ويتنفس من فمه, ويبدأ سيلان أنفي غزير ما يؤدي إلى كثرة الدمع , والحل الوحيد للتعامل مع الزكام هو الراحة في الفراش ومراجعة الطبيب وفي كل الأحوال يجب ألا تقلق الأم من تغير شهية الطفل في أيام الزكام , وأنها ستعود لطبيعتها بعده.
متى أعرف أن درجة حرارة الطفل مرتفعة وما هو التصرف المناسب؟
تعتبر درجة حرارة الطفل مرتفعة إذا كانت أكثر من 37.5 درجة مئوية ويكون الملمس جلد الطفل عندها حاراً أو يكون الطفل مصاباً بالقشعريرة أو التعرق ويفضل دائما قياس درجة حرارة الطفل وكإجراء أولي.
